Wise Thought Number Twenty-Three

There is this poem
That is floating in my brain.
But every time I hear
A pencil scratch,
Or the caress of keys
Beneath my fingers,
This poem just seems
To fly out my ear,
Taking inspiration as
A carry-on.

  1. Story of my life. It's a miracle when my one poem came out sounding as it did. I have to spend at least a couple hours writing it one day, then going back the next day to check it and change things. How long does it take you to write these?

  2. Usually I spend about an hour- maybe 90 min.- at a time working on them. A single poem though, only take about 5-10, depending on whether or not it came unto my mind fully formed or not. Most of the longer, more serious ones take longer though.
